The basics: Sketches, Paintings, and Sculptures

Paintings - Acrylic and Watercolour

Springing Llama

6" x 9" Acrylic Painting on Canvas

Springing Llama

The reintroduction of my traditional art phase. I was on Instagram and I came across an account that did cute little animal portraits, and I felt inspired. We had a bunch of old canvases in the back of the closet, supposed to have been used when I was in middle school but never got around to it.

Fountain of Dogs

16" x 20" Acrylic Painting

April 21, 2023

I remember seeing this fountain on Front Street, Toronto ON, for the first time and being greatly amused by all the dogs staring up at the bone, while the cat stared off to the distance. I went there with my own dog Milo and he thought all the dog statues were real dogs and he tried to talk to them. It'll always be a core memory for me, and I wished to memorialize it through this painting.

Town by the Seaside

20" x 24" Acrylic Painting

May 13, 2023

As a child, I really enjoyed watching all the Studio Ghibli movies, my favourite being Kiki's Delivery Service. This painting was actually my representation of the town that Kiki lived in before she flew off to her city. This was also my first ever attempt at creating a canvas from reusing an older canvas: I kept the frame but I changed the textile canvas and stapeled them together.

Big Bird

20" x 30" Acrylic and Oil Pastel

May 19, 2023

On the seasonal trip to the zoo the art classes go on in Danforth Collegiate and Technical Institute, I found myself marvelled by this really big bird. A black red-tailed cockatoo. Created through using washed down acrylic paint and oil pastels, I created this piece to be a vibrant image for this majestic bird.

Seattle in Ink

8" x 14" Pen and Ink

Seattle in Ink

This was meant as an improvement to one of my older pieces that, unfortunately, has been crushed by a fallen tree. I was given a bunch of black pens by my Visual Arts' teacher after telling her that I don't have anymore... So I used them to make this!

Kensington Corner

9" x 12" Watercolour Painting

June 23, 2023
Kensington Corner

Similar to the zoo trip, the art classes get to go to Kensington Market, a vibrantly colourful neighbourhood located in Downtown Toronto. This is one of the most prominent and most photographed section of Kensington Market. I guarantee if you search the market up, you'll get a lot of photos like this.

Acrylic Pour

9" x 12" Poured Acrylic Painting on Wood

June 25-27, 2023

On YouTube, I've seen a lot of different art mediums: clay models, realistic art, painting on things, and acrylic pours. My teacher had the resources and she had wanted to get rid of some wood. The red and blue ones are examples of a Traveling Ring Pour while the other is a Dutch Pour.

Danforth Centennial Memorial

20" x 30" Watercolur Pencil Crayon Painting

October 17, 2023

Self Portraits

8" x 11" Sketching Pencils on Sketchbook
